Re: Mrd6's Walled Isuzu Rodeo
Not sure why I am up still but figured I'd put a few more pics up. Views from the outside, dirty car though lol
And the beginning of the front door panel build pics
Making a template for the door pod backing
transferring them over to some of that pink styrofoam stuff
cut out the foam and started to add pieces and shape it to get ready for glass
More foam went on after ^that picture was taken and then the foam parts were wrapped with plastic wrap so the resin and glass wouldn't stick to it. Then stretched the cloth and here is how they looked after the first resin layer. No glass yet.

Great work man!! I'm a fan of c-pillars and yours looks clean. Love the idea of showing the amp guts. Do you have plexi over it? Looks like you went a little forward of the c-pillar in the finish pics?
Very good looking install though, I look forward to seeing it at a show. You going to the show in Marysville on the 20th? Also, do you have access to a meter or do you want to get it metered? Looks like it's loud.

Yep, each of the circles has an acrylic circle flush mounted in from the back. Definitely a bit forward from the actual c-pillar so there is no real back seats but the false floor is raised enough that small people (girls lol) can sit in the back relatively comfortably. For sure planning on going to the Marysville show but would love to play with a meter a bit before hand just to get some experience with it.

I have a meter and can at least get you tested to see where you're at. I live in Puyallup and work in downtown Seattle. If you can come to me, you can get on the meter.

That would be awesome! I will have to get back to you about that soon. The subs started being a bit weird today so I need to get that figured out first but then I'll be all over it.
So I can best describe the sub stage as hiccuping? It is only at high volumes at low frequencies when it happens. Like when everything in the car is getting rattled to death, then it will cut out for a split second then back on then off kind of randomly but in quick succession. It basically seems like a loose connection that is coming undone somewhere so I need to try to track that down. I am thinking it is the RCAs coming loose, they didn't fit particularly tight when I first put them on and I seem to remember reading about someone else having a similar issue with the RCAs and a sundown amp. So hopefully thats it (fingers crossed) should be able to look at that this weekend sometime. Then once that gets squared away its video and meter time!

Re: Mrd6's Walled Isuzu Rodeo
Almost sounds like clipping to me. I had similar problems back in the day when I was running a single 18" btl off of a hifonics 1600.

Re: Mrd6's Walled Isuzu Rodeo
^thought it could be clipping too at first but then i played the same song today that i first noticed it on (mi casa su casa the decaf version) at the some volume, settings, gain etc and it didnt do it which makes me think it is something else? We will see. If it comes back ill take a video and then change out to different rcas and see what happens

Re: Mrd6's Walled Isuzu Rodeo
both tests were done at idle and didnt drop below 13.3 from what i could see on my volt meter. Its definitely a weird problem, I need to make sure I get a video of it when/if it comes back

Re: Mrd6's Walled Isuzu Rodeo
Putting the Xp3000 in for some more juice
The beginning of a little box to hold it in the back. Made from scrap wood laying around in about 30 minutes lol. Its only temporary until i take the time to build the bank in the back for two more so i dont mind it not looking that great lol
next to the battery
and after the bed liner
Looks better than i expected in the end, still need to get a shot of it actually in the truck though.
But i can go full tilt now with almost zero voltage drop!

Zero voltage drop would be awesome! Is that at idle, or revving?

Re: Mrd6's Walled Isuzu Rodeo
I guess zero is a bit of an exaggeration, Im just excited by how much better it is now than it used to be! haha
Still havent played with it alot but revving it stays above 14 (charging at 14.4) on almost every song i have tried. At idle it will drop to the 13s on really long low notes. This is of course time limited because my alt cant keep the batteries charged endlessly but it will hold well full tilt when revving for whole songs.
