cnutt420's build
Ok guys, so I finally got a build going. This build is just a temporary one until I get my subs reconed and the rest of the equipment needed. I needed something to play with in the mean time. The box for this build is a 7.25 ft3 box tuned to 29 hz with 108 in2 port. The sub I will be using is a re audio sx18 d2 with a fi recone with all the upgrades (soon to be 2) which consists of integrated leads and extra spiders for more power handling capabilities. Running this off of a hifonics brz1700, but looking desperately for an upgrade. Need more powa haha. Anyway, Just got a few pics for you guys. This is still a work in progress.
First off, the pre-cut wood from home depot
Which they never cut right so I had them cut it a lil bit long and then I just trimmed the rest to my specifications
Port ends that i rounded using a jig-saw and sand paper
Back plate and sides glued and screwed
Another angle of the port end, and the 45s I used for the corners
The 45s are'nt very big but they'll just have to do for this application. Also some wood filler (bondo) on there that still needs to be sanded and smoothed
Overall view of my dual slot port project
Hole for the sub cut out (also with a jig-saw) and the ports all lined up and ready to be glued and screwed
Pretty good for a jig-saw I think
Haha, my son being the crazy kid that he is
Used 1 inch dowel rods for the bracing
My sub by its soon to be counterpart. Both will be freshly reconed
This is how it sits as of now. Can't really see it but I also smoothed out the end of the ports
Oh, and in case you wanted to know
This is the reason for the badly needed recone
Here's the 1/0 welding cable that I got from work that I'm gonna use as my negative run to the back
and the terminal that I soldered
Also have some knu kolossus that I run as my power. I'm going to be putting this in my 4runner instead of my durango for now because I already have an upgraded alternator in there. Still need some decent batteries though
Well, I think that's it for now until I primer and paint. Thinking about running the stone paint to match my interior but I just ordered a white re audio sticker so I might run that with black paint ... We'll see. I will update with pics as I progress

Re: cnutt420's build
Thanks... I still need to double baffle it and do some more touch ups but it'll suffice for now

Re: cnutt420's build
I got another badly needed upgrade, a Pioneer premier deh-p680mp deck.
Went from this

to this

even has the voltage meter
[img][/img]
This 4 volt deck makes a huge difference in sound quality over the 2 volt cheap sony and I think more spl but havent metered with this deck yet. I may just have to wait till the next comp for that though. But I'm loving this deck already and I have'nt even figured out all the controls
