stupid question....
I was wondering when a sub says burp power is that a rms rating or Max they can take? Trying to figure out if my subs can keep up with the amps I'm getting ........
Re: stupid question....
I think it will handle more power for burping and will also handle some more RMS power, here a quote direct from Fi,
"BP Power: This option adds a machined aluminum compression plug to the pole which helps channel all of the air under the dustcap around the coil for better cooling. To aid with this increased airflow we also add 6 axial cooling channels in the top plate. Along with increased thermal capacity comes the addition of an extra spider and a changed spider pack. All of these features increase power handling from 200-500 Watts depending on the application."
Now all the stuff Fi puts in the sub is probably not the same as your sub, but however your subwoofers manufacture puts stuff in the sub for the "bp power" option so it will give you better coiling or something to increase the power handling.

Re: stupid question....
You guys are talking about 2 different things.
"purp power" is a stupid rating. It's going to change on every install, but i would assume that's what they say the sub can take on a burp. So def. not RMS rating.
