Snowdrifter's Jeep Wrangler
Oh snap, it's finally time
The plan is for 2 Fi Bl 12s on a Crescendo 3500. I *might* do 4 sa 10s if I can find some for a deal
This will be a slow build log as a combination of lack of time, tools, and school. But it will be a build nonetheles
What I got so far:
Volt meter, reads from the inputs on the amp
Bass knob
Run of 1/0 to the back
Ground for the rear

Re: Snowdrifter's Jeep Wrangler
LMAO
75 feet of 0 gauge leftover, going to be making more runs and going more grounds when I get more terminals tomorrow
I have one of the Crescendo's already - going to wait until I get a better alternator before I get the second one
Keeping the stock deck, already have a LOC wired up and have a bunch of 8 gauge for speaker wire
Have a box plan laid out, I just need to find a friend who has tools and a pickup truck so I can build it =/

Re: Snowdrifter's Jeep Wrangler
Change of plans: Going with 2 BL 12s on a single 3500. My father about had a passed out when I showed him how big the box was going to be for the 18s LOL
Anyways.. Today's progress:
Ordered some dual inputs from TM
Added 1 more ground
Hey, copper posts on a stock alternator. Not too shabby!
Old vs new charging wire
(in a Nigel Thornberry voice) A relative of the common zip tie, bailing wire can be extremely effective in tieing items out of the way
Got wires cut for the amp
Batteries wired up
Tada!

Re: Snowdrifter's Jeep Wrangler
Thanks for the support guys
A friend is letting me use his old rockford fosgate 12s in the mean time until I manage to scrounge some tools to build a box
I'll get better pictures tomorrow since it's dark, but here's something at least
The back of the car. I told you it was dark

Lol, I'm going to turn the gain waaayyyy down. Something tells me those little subs will respond with smoke and fire if I try to run full power to them

Re: Snowdrifter's Jeep Wrangler
Managed to get a pair of XS v2 12s for less than a pair of BLs.
Stay tuned for pics when they arrive.
I also hope to get my enclosure build this weekend

Re: Snowdrifter's Jeep Wrangler
Got a bare-bones sketchup for the box done.
I'll do a double baffle if I don't have to get another sheet of wood
2.25 per, 33hz, 14sqin per cube

Re: Snowdrifter's Jeep Wrangler
Got my cut sheet in place and tweaked the box a bit as per Crossfire's reccomendation
Went to a single slot port, 30hz, 2.25 per
Made a cut sheet: 1 full size sheet and 2 2x4' sheets
If my friend's truck is available tomorrow and we can scrounge up tools - it should be built tomorrow. If not: I shall pout aplenty and throw multiple hissy fits
Oh, and I picked up a bucket of herculiner since I can't carpet to save my life lol

Re: Snowdrifter's Jeep Wrangler
Nice man. More XS v2's. They are getting popular.
I think they just started doing those in 12's. Pretty badass build. Looking forward to seeing how these do. Do you have a place to get metered when you finish it?

I have a meter. Where are you located? I live in Puyallup and work in Seattle area usually.

Re: Snowdrifter's Jeep Wrangler
You might check with Noph33rracing (Ryan M) too if for some reason we don't find time to meet when you finish your build. He lives in Kent and also owns a meter. He's usually pretty cool about letting people get metered if you can meet up with him.

Re: Snowdrifter's Jeep Wrangler
Update
Didn't quite finish the box. I still need to cut the holes and do some 45s, but it's mostly there
Wood I carried for a friend's box
For my box
I don't care what anyone says. This stuff works great
To screw in the subs
Lost the box of screws lol. Gotta make do with what ya got
In the back, taking it home from my friends house. More work to be done tomorrow

I'm in construction. Got a few jobs downtown right now. Should be there for a while. Probably the Columbia Center building for the next couple weeks.
