New setup ideas
Ok, so I want to upgrade my system. Right now I have the 2 15" Qs and they have the high QTS option so they can be run sealed and think thats why I get clipping when the volume gets to a certain point. So anyway, im trying to sell those then with the money from them and some money I have Ill have $800-900 and these are my ideas for a new system.
2 18" FI BLs or if you guys recommend a different company I can get 2 18s for $800 tell me please, im also considering DC but I don't have any prices from them.
1 21" Death penalty plus a new box for it.
4 FI X 15s (I want to know your opinions on 4 of the low level subs fi makes, all 4 on the DD M3a should be able to take the power, and Ill have more cone area) What are your thoughts on this? Im leaning towards this or the 2 18s.

If you want to get any DC pricing contact john on here, aka meathead. But the first product that comes to mind from them for 18s from them that would most fit your budget and power would be either the lv3m2s or the lv4m2s..
well the 21" warden is a pretty spend woofer but IA's products are damn good.

Re: New setup ideas
I was thinking of the Warden 21" but someone told me it takes a TON of power to run it, my DD M3a puts out like 2200+ of clean watts at 1ohm. Will that be enough you think?
Re: New setup ideas
well its a neo motor so yeah it takes a lot of power..

Thats what I thought, I want to stay away from neo motors because ill have to spend another $800 to get a second M3a and I dont have the money. My box was built for 18s so I just need to make a bigger cut out hole and throw the subs in. I think the FI BLs would be good or DC lvl 3 or 4 depending on the price.
Re: New setup ideas
I say talk with john before you do any deciding on what to buy.. The new m2 line is completely revamped from the old m1.. The good thing about DC subs is they don't take a lot of space for there enclosures

Re: New setup ideas
The DC's sound like a better option to me. You have 5 cubes after displacement per sub? The DC's will run better in a smaller enclosure. The BL, or BTL's like a good 6 cubes if I remember right. I had a BTL 18 in a 4.5 cu. enclosure and it was loud, but nowhere near what it could have been in 6 cubes.
Also, if you don't want to add power, then that amp is not enough for BL, or BTL's. The Level 3's are more what you would be looking for.

Re: New setup ideas
I will add a second amp when I get more money this summer. I'm likening DC since your saying it will work in a smaller enclosure. Why get level 3s why not level 4s?
Re: New setup ideas
Well the lv3s are rated for 900 watts but can take 1000 or even a little bit more as long as its clean power.. The lv4s are rated for 1400 watts.. As I was told.. The m2 line is a step up in every level so the lv3 m2 is like the lv4 m1 and the lv4m2 is like the XLm1.. And so on.. With the power your running giving the lv3s rated and some change would be perfect and the new lv3m2 with the stronger motor allows it to be made in 18s

Re: New setup ideas
Ok so level 3m2. Sweet. That makes sense now. All that's left to do is find out the price and sell off my subs

I would go with more cone area. You've seen what my Xs do. They're not even the new ones!

Thats why I was considering the 4 15" Xs. How do you like those xs? And how many watts are you putting into them?
Re: New setup ideas
Love em'. Just need "more" after listening to them for a year and a half.
My 1500 is at .5, but since I've torn a couple tinsel leads i assume i was pushing more than their max rms which was 300. So it couldn't have been any more than 1600, but there is no way to really tell so this is all pointless speculation
They're only 115 each, which is DIRT cheap. You could bump up to the SSDs for a power bump. I wouldn't hesitate to get those at all. If SSA wasn't coming out with the Fcon i would already have the SSDs.

Re: New setup ideas
that m3a is VERY underrated!
It's been clamped at 4,000+ watts!
M2 lvl3 rated at 900 but tests have shown that they can take more power no problem. I'd say m2 lvl4's would be your best bet.
Your probably clipping cause you don't have enough electrical to run your amp yet. You need to upgrade that Batt in the front and get 1 in the rear and run's of 1/0 from front to back.

Re: New setup ideas
Im saving for a second battery and 0 gauge right now. But Ive made up my mind on the new system. Im going to get 4 15" SSA Fcons when they come out or 4 15 Fi SSDs. They should handle around 700 watts and they will do good with 3.25 cubes im pretty sure. Its going to be a pain to build the new box.. oh well, I will have all summer. I need to fix 13-14 cubes, which I know I can.
