My bedroom build - My first build
This is my bedroom build for music and movies. It also happens to be my first build
The box is for a single 15 running off of a crown XLS 5000 with an f3 point of 24hz
All the pieces cut
Port
Quick mockup
Gluing the baffle (got clamps?)
Baffle done!
It looks like there is a gap between the baffles - but there isn't. It's just some darkening of the wood because of the glue

I want to get it carpeted, but since it would be my first time carpeting: I would problably botch it. So I am leaning towards just painting the outside with bedliner and the port with matte black paint with some fiberglass resin over it for smoothness

Re: My bedroom build - My first build
I started on the hole for my baffle but ran out of time. All I need to do is make another pass with the router from the other side and that part should be done
I also made a noob mistake and accidentally took a chunk out of the baffle towards the lower right
Nothing a 'lil bondo can't fix

It's a power acoustik mofo 15 with the 4 ohm coils. And yeah, problably. It's a bit big for a car though. I might just keep the sub and make a different box for automotive use

Well its not like your sending rediculous amounts of power to them and trying to win a sq comp lol they should do just the trick with what your wanting to do and sound good

Yeah, the biggest thing for me was the cost. The neos were almost twice as much. The weight I would save and the airspace I would gain isn't worth it haha.

What enclosure are you putting the mids and highs in?

In a .2 cube sealed enclosure with some polyfill. Each enclosure will have 1 W6, 1 Dayton mid, and 1 Tweeter all on crossovers.
I'm only going to have 2 of them though. I don't really have any space for more haha. I have some speakers laying around that play good from 350hz up to around 14khz that I will use for some rear fill

That is going to be sweet! I don't think mine will quite measure up to yours, but I am much more space constrained hahameathead wrote:Iam currently working on my rebuild for my new house, and the center channel well have 6 of these

I don't think so. My room is pretty well 'dead' and I have had speakers in there before without any cancellation or echoesmeathead wrote:ya my living room is like 30wx35dx15tall so good size living room...

I bet that's a headachemeathead wrote:I got hardwood floors so I know I well.. ugg... ohwell.. what did u use to deaden it? wall tiles? or took it old school egg cartons or better cup holders.. Just poking fun lol.. Ive used wall tiles before..
I have carpet floors, some egg carton foam, a bed with fluffy sheets, and curtains strung up.
the only thing I see becoming a problem is my closet which sits directly behind me. If it becomes a problem: on with more curtains and foam hahaha

I just hooked up a multi meter to the amp playing a 20hz tone... It pushed 212 volts without any load on it

Is that good or bad? Haha I'm not too familiar with home audio and volts, blah blah blah that goes with it..
Tho my dad does have a badass home audio setup. Its all definitive technology, well worth like 5k along for the two towers speaker box that's on top of the big screen and wall mounted speakers. I've played some music on it through my blue ray player and holy shit does it get loud and low.. Shakes throughout the whole house.. Sry for the mini rant haha but I'm sure that crown will push that mofo just fine
