new to nwspl
Hello, my name is Will and I've been into car audio for about 6 months. The car I drive is a 2007 Jeep Liberty. I began with 2 Kenwood kfc 3012 12's, a Kenwood KAC class D mono amp, a Pioneer DEH 6300 head unit, and stock battery and alternator. Since I didn't give the subs sufficient time to break in, they wore out quick. I decided to upgrade to 2 kicker cvx 12's about 4 months ago and that is all that has changed with my system thus far. I just ordered a new xs power d3400 to go under my hood to solve my problem with clipping at higher volumes. I also ordered everything I need for the big 3 upgrade. Right now I'm running about 900 watts rms at 2 ohms to both my subs and am planning to get a roc fos t1000 bd-cp to replace my Kenwood amp.

Welcome bro! I don't know if you were meaning something else when you said replacing your under the hood batt will help with clipping at high volumes. It well help with voltage yes but clipping all comes from the signal your deck is sending to your amp and the signal your amp is sending to woofers, speaker etc. Don't take that as me being a dick just clarifying.. Trust me all of us had to start somewhere and learn from others and trail and error.. But your off to a good start my dude. Got a lot of experienced people on this forumand don't be shy to ask any questions. Someone will have an answer for you.

Sounds like you have some good plans for the future. Welcome to the site. And low voltage can cause clipping depending on the amp. Those Kenwood's run really hot ive seen a few in person that get hot off nothing.

Welcome. Another thing to clarify is that there is no need to "break in" subs. Just install them and let them wang. The spiders and surround will loosen up and produce a little more output in the lows after a bit, but other than that there is nothing to worry about with new subs.

Welcome bro! I just did the big 3 abut 2 hours ago, and my voltage is ALOT more stable, and my amp doesn't clip at high volume now, well I can turn it up about 3-5 more notches depending on the song.
